I am the lucky recipient of a Professional Development grant ($950.00) from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs! The grant will help support my participation in a 2016 quilt workshop with Gwen Marston, (http://www.gwenmarston.com/). I will be going to the Madeline Island School of the Arts (http://www.madelineartschool.com/). The only drawback for me is the ferry ride from mainland to island–wish me luck!
I enjoyed a fantastic afternoon with fourteen other winners and Ms. Jocelynn Brown, columnist for the “Detroit News.” She hosted the second Detroit News Stitch-Together for local knitters and crocheters on Wednesday, October 14th. Detroit News Stitch Together What a grand time…Stitching Get Together
We shared our passions, projects and patterns, as well as coffee and doughnuts. I LOVED finally meeting Jocelynn in person! She is wonderful and gracious! Bonus—we were in the Stevie Wonder meeting room–I LOVE Stevie! The participants and newspaper staff were so friendly and delightful–we got prizes and traded fun yarns–WOW!!!
Last night I spent a wonderful evening with new Zentangle students–how enriching and delightful. We met at Holt Community Education HOLT, and the group shined!
FUN tangleations! Glow in the Dark Pumpkins
